Danné E. Davis has an earned Ph.D. from Boston College. Her scholarship centers on diversity and inclusion, the arts as pedagogy, and teacher education. These topics inform her many publications, presentations, and workshops. Dr. Davis’ current research involves increasing elementary teacher candidates' awareness of and responsiveness to LGBTQ+ diversity. Using music and song to teach about the Black experience is another scholarly focus. Dr. Davis is the recipient of numerous awards including the National Association for Multicultural Education (NAME) Pritchy Smith Multicultural Educator of the Year and MSU Faculty/Staff LGBTQ Ally of the Year. Beyond the classroom, Danné finds joy with elders and serving her community with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
