Author of six books fiction and one non-fiction, Economy Hall: The History of a Free Black Brotherhood which is the Louisiana Endowment of the Humanities Book of the Year (2022). Expertise in writing, literature, book banning, Civil Rights, American history related to Black U.S. and free people of color pre-Civil War. Trustee PEN America, former board member The Writers Room. New Orleans native, Indian grandfather and Black Creole heritage. Retired after starting the Communication program at Saint Peter's 28 years ago.
