Keywuan J. Caulk (he/him/his) is native to Penns Grove, New Jersey.
He takes great Knight-pride in Fairleigh Dickinson University (Metropolitan Campus), where he obtained his Bachelors of Psychology in 2008. In 2012, he became a Husky-alum of Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, receiving his Masters of Education in Counseling with a dual focus in Student Affairs and Elementary Education.
Keywuan is a student affairs professional at Rutgers University - New Brunswick proudly serving as the Director for the Center for Social Justice Education & LGBT Communities where he is charged with curating a supportive environment for students of all backgrounds, focusing on gender and sexuality, while promoting both social and educational opportunities for leadership, identity, and social justice advocacy development.
He has held previous roles in his current office, New Student Orientation & Family Programs and the Office of Residence Life. In the Division of Student Affairs, he is a past chair of the Diversity Council as well as the Regional Excellence in Student Affairs Conference. Within Douglass Residential College and the Women and Gender Studies program at Rutgers, Keywuan was an adjunct instructor for a course entitled Understanding Gender Inequalities and Social Changes, also known as Knowledge and Power. Knowledge and Power is a foundational course that examines intersectional feminism, diversity, gender and social justice.
Keywuan’s commitments outside of the university setting is dedicated to service with the LGBT Community Engagement Committee and African American Outreach Committee for the State Theater of New Jersey, New Jersey Statewide LGBTQ+ Advocates Committee, and he is a member of the Board of Directors for Daraja of Love Incorporated, a non-profit organization.
Keywuan is the founder of the Keywuan J. Caulk Scholarship, a scholarship awarded to students of color that intends to remove financial barriers towards academics achievement. An award can assist with the following: tuition, books, school supplies, toiletries, food, gas, rent assistance, or any other expense that supports a students needs and success of education.
Keywuan is an active and engaging workshop host, thoughtful and connected facilitator, curator of affirming spaces, and a dynamic, hope-instilling speaker.
To advance his mission, Keywuan furthers his knowledge to combat systematic oppression and eliminate discrimination. He strives to establish inclusive communities that contribute to the betterment of inclusive society at large, especially among colleges and universities.
